This carbine does have the same rear site as the center picture in post #17 and it's stamped PI or P1 on the side. I'll try to get some help from a younger pair or eyes. The barrel stamp is giving me the same fits whether it's my eyes or the poor/old stamp, I can't read it. I was told that it is an IBM manufactured carbine but with my bad eyes, I can't make out the Mfg stamp which is nearly hidden by the rear site. I accquired an M1 Carbine from my late father-in-law.
